Love the video but hate that you exposed the juice😂 I experimented with this technique a few years ago and wow was I surprised at how aggressively they will attack a big bait. Also, I too have an OG KGB Chad shad at the bottom of lake Lanier so don’t feel bad , you are not the only one lol.

Lol… that’s not so crazy. My dad caught a absolute giant 7.1 spot when I was idling across the mouth of a creek once. He was still sitting up in the back seat with maybe 5-6 feet of line out and his jig was literally skipping over the surface. Lol I couldn’t believe he held onto his rod. Really couldn’t believe it didn’t pull loose or break off that close when it hit.

Damn look how many fish came up out of that first tree when you hooked the first one 👀👀… I love big spotted bass. Especially in winter.

Straight tanks… congrats brother! it’s so awesome catching giant spots. I love living where there are Bama strain spotted bass that grow like that. They are so aggressive and pull like tanks… people who don’t have them don’t know what they’re missing. 😂😂

I hope this is not breaking a fisherman’s code, but I would like to make a request. I just started fishing within the last year and recently purchased a used fishfinder with sides scan. I have not been able to find any brush piles. I was wondering if you would give me a waypoint that I could go to and use as an example of what to look for. I fish the south end of Lanier. Thank you in advance.

Hows the fishing on lanier in the summer? Coming down in mid july, you catch alot that time of year? Also how is pleasure boat traffic? Im sure its probably just as bad as everywhere else lol. Was hoping to come in april but had some things come up and now be there in july.

Man what an awesome day! Nothing like watchin them come up and eat it. I've been down there one time and it was in May, had a great time and caught a lot of spots on the drop shot. We fish for smallmouth like that here on Cherokee and I was kind of curious if you're catching those spots on deep points or are you fishing creek channels? We actually look for deep ponds / depressions on Cherokee and most are caught in 30 to 35 feet in the winter. In the summer it's opposite, they hang out on deep water humps in the same depth instead if deep water ponds. Even though I've only been there one time, Lanier is one of my favorite lakes and I want to come back down soon. When do you think the best time is to catch numbers? I'm guessing right now is when you catch the big ones? I appreciate any help, going to try and put a trip together very soon.

Lanier was COLD over MLK weekend, we put in at Balus and had a tough time with the wind. Great video and appreciated the advice, I'll be sure to give ditch fishing a shot my next go!
